The registration-fee calculation
Punjab Excise’s published schedule, checked on 24 September 2026, lists a 2% registration fee for vehicles above 1,000cc and not above 2,000cc. The Corolla 1.6 and 1.8 fall in that engine band. Toyota’s showroom lists Corolla X starting at Rs 6,099,000. [1,2]
If the authority accepts Rs 6,099,000 as the assessed vehicle value, 2% equals Rs 121,980. This is a worked example of the registration-fee component only. The exact assessed value and applicable rules must come from the registration authority, not a rounded showroom conversation.

Ask for an itemised bill
Request separate lines for registration fee, applicable advance income tax, motor vehicle/token tax, number plates or card charges, and any optional number or agent service. Each has its own basis. A dealer’s service fee should be distinguishable from a government levy.
Ask which tax amounts have already been collected on the purchase invoice and what evidence is required to recognise those payments. Do not add a generic withholding percentage again merely because another calculator shows it. Your tax status and the law applying on the payment date matter; this guide deliberately does not present an older filer/non-filer table as a current universal bill.
Prepare the documents before delivery
Use Punjab Excise’s current new-registration checklist and obtain the original sale invoice and sale certificate from the seller. Match the chassis and engine details across the vehicle, invoice and application. Keep copies of the official assessment, payment receipt and submission acknowledgement. If a dealer handles the process, obtain proof of payment and the application reference rather than accepting a single unexplained cash amount.
Compare quotes on the same basis
For two Corolla variants, use each exact invoice value. For a used Corolla, stop and obtain a transfer assessment instead: new registration and ownership transfer are different transactions. A registration estimate for Lahore should not be copied to another province.
The practical next step is to ask the dealer for the invoice and a draft itemised assessment, then check the official Punjab service before paying. Any difference between a calculator and the authority’s demand should be resolved from the line items.
