Editorial, pricing and corrections policy.

Every page should tell a visitor what is known, what is estimated and what must still be confirmed.

1. Source order

We prefer the Pakistan manufacturer or authorised distributor’s model page, price list or published announcement. A direct official link appears on each model page. Credible reporting or market discussion may be used only for an approximate launch figure when no official public price exists.

2. Price labels

Listed price means the figure is held as an official distributor or manufacturer price in our catalogue. Approximate / expected means it is a planning reference, not an official quotation. Prices normally exclude some combination of registration, withholding tax, freight, insurance, tracker and accessories.

3. Calculators

On-road and monthly-payment tools are educational estimates. Bank results depend on product structure, KIBOR or fixed rate, credit decision, salary or business evidence, vehicle eligibility, Takaful/insurance and fees. We never present an estimate as finance approval.

4. Comparisons and rankings

Budget guides are compiled from current price and catalogue filters. Editorial comparisons explain buyer trade-offs; they do not declare a paid winner. Availability, warranty, delivery and after-sales support should be confirmed in writing.

5. Updates and corrections

Material price or model changes are reflected in the central catalogue so car pages, guides and comparisons update consistently. A visible review date shows when editorial guidance was last checked. Incorrect data should be corrected at source level, not patched on only one page.

6. Commercial independence

CarRates is not a manufacturer, dealer or lender. Future advertising or affiliate relationships must be visibly identified and will not change the price-label or source policy.

7. Vehicle images

Images are used to identify the relevant model, not to promise a colour, grade or Pakistan specification. Manufacturer or distributor media is preferred; openly licensed photography may be used where a clean official model image is unavailable. 8. Owner and repair records

My Garage records are stored against the visitor’s CarRates account; CarRates does not request a CNIC or vehicle registration number. A repair record is submitted for moderation only when the visitor separately consents. Public repair ranges appear only after at least five completed records have passed moderation. Owner-entered service histories and Car Passports are not independent inspections, warranties or remote diagnoses.
