Shortlist the IONIQ 5 if its cabin and driving experience justify the purchase price and charging fits into your existing routine. Start with the published price, then request the complete bill
Hyundai Nishat's official Pakistan model page displays a starting price of PKR 22,500,000, checked on 17 September 2026. This is a website starting amount, not a personalised on-road quotation. [1]
Ask the dealer to itemise registration, applicable taxes, freight, insurance, charging equipment and installation. Record the quotation date and delivery commitment. A charger described as included still needs a clear statement about cabling, electrical protection and installation work; those details determine the household's actual entry cost.
Confirm the specification of the actual car
The official specification page identifies a five-seat AWD IONIQ 5 with a 3,000 mm wheelbase, an 84 kWh battery entry and an advertised range of up to 500 km. Treat those as manufacturer website claims, not independently measured Pakistan-road results. The same page also contains an unrelated seven-seat hybrid specification block, so it should not be read as one continuous vehicle specification. [2]
Before booking, request the model year, exact trim, battery specification and matching brochure for the allocated car. Have the dealer confirm those in writing. A product-family name does not establish that every vehicle in stock has the same battery, charging equipment or cabin features.
Make home charging a purchase condition
Begin with your parking space. Can the car remain there overnight, can a charging cable reach it safely, and who controls access? Apartment buyers should resolve building permission and billing arrangements before treating a shared socket as a charging plan.
Have a qualified installer inspect the supply and propose equipment compatible with the delivered vehicle. Request a written scope covering circuit protection, earthing, cable routing and weather exposure. The practical goal is a routine that does not require you to rearrange every evening around the car.
Use a transparent monthly energy estimate
For an illustrative calculation only, assume 1,500 km a month and 20 kWh drawn from the electricity meter per 100 km, including charging losses. That gives 300 kWh a month. Multiply by your own marginal electricity cost: at an assumed PKR 60 per kWh, the result is PKR 18,000. Neither input is an official IONIQ 5 consumption result or a current electricity tariff.
Replace both inputs after recording actual charging and distance. Do not add charging losses again if consumption is already measured at the meter. Keep public charging expenditure separate, because its price and convenience can differ from home charging. Add insurance, tyres, maintenance and expected resale to compare ownership costs with another car.
Test your difficult journey, not just your normal commute
List the longest trip you make regularly, including the return leg and a reserve. Identify a compatible charger and a backup before departure; a map pin alone does not confirm that equipment is operational or accessible when you arrive. Ask about opening hours, payment and charger availability.
For the test drive, bring the people and luggage that usually travel with you. Try parking, rear-seat comfort, visibility and the controls with the air-conditioning running. If the car suits those ordinary tasks and the charging plan survives the awkward journey, you have a stronger buying case than a range headline can provide.
