VXL is the strongest all-round value if you are comfortable with a manual gearbox. VXL-AGS suits dense urban driving when two-pedal convenience matters enough to justify PKR 232,300 more; VXR remains the budget choice, but compare its missing equipment before treating the lower price as an automatic saving.
The current price ladder
Suzuki Pakistan currently lists Cultus VXR at PKR 4,089,490, VXL at PKR 4,359,160 and VXL-AGS at PKR 4,591,460. That makes the VXL PKR 269,670 above VXR, while AGS adds PKR 232,300 over the manual VXL. [1,2]
Ask for a dated on-road quotation. Registration, withholding tax, freight, insurance, accessories and any promotional finance arrangement can change the final amount, and the manufacturer's displayed price is not a universal drive-away figure.
| Variant | Transmission | Official price | Step up |
|---|---|---|---|
| VXR | 5-speed manual | PKR 4,089,490 | — |
| VXL | 5-speed manual | PKR 4,359,160 | PKR 269,670 |
| VXL-AGS | Automated manual | PKR 4,591,460 | PKR 232,300 |
VXR saves money; VXL changes the daily experience
Suzuki's current comparison identifies all three grades separately and places the additional exterior and convenience equipment on VXL and VXL-AGS. The two higher grades share the VXL equipment level, so the final step is principally about transmission convenience rather than moving into a completely different car. [1]
Compare the exact live equipment list at the showroom. Sit in each grade, operate the windows, mirrors, infotainment and luggage area, and confirm the spare wheel, tool kit and security equipment on the vehicle being invoiced. A feature you use every day can justify more than a cosmetic item that only improves the brochure.
AGS is convenient, but it is not a conventional automatic
Suzuki's AGS automates clutch and gear selection while retaining the basic character of a manual transmission. It removes the clutch pedal, which can reduce fatigue in stop-start traffic, but low-speed shifts may feel different from a torque-converter automatic or CVT.
Test the VXL-AGS in crawling traffic, on an incline, during parking and under brisk acceleration. Learn how creep, hill starts and manual selection behave before paying the premium. If several family members will drive the car, every regular driver should complete that test.
Calculate the premium over the ownership period
The PKR 232,300 gap from VXL manual to VXL-AGS equals about PKR 3,872 per month over five years before financing cost. That does not make AGS cheap or expensive by itself; it converts the price gap into a daily-convenience decision.
Insurance, financing and resale may also differ with invoice value and transmission demand. Obtain written quotations for both grades, then compare total paid rather than only the monthly instalment advertised by a bank or dealer.
The practical shortlist
Choose VXR when the lowest purchase price is the priority and its confirmed equipment is sufficient. Choose VXL for the fuller specification without paying for an automated gearbox. Choose VXL-AGS when urban congestion or driver needs make two-pedal operation genuinely valuable.
Before booking, verify production month, warranty start date, delivery timing, tyre manufacturing dates and the exact variant on the provisional booking order. A clean comparison is more valuable than negotiating accessories before the correct car and price are documented.
Verify before paying
- Dated ex-factory and complete on-road quotation
- Live equipment sheet for the exact grade
- AGS test in traffic, parking and on an incline
- Warranty start date and service schedule
- Production month and tyre manufacturing dates
